vMood Icons (First Look).

Script vMood Icons (First Look).

It has been confirmed by sniper (Author of the vmood script) that he'll be writing the new script for the next generation of vbulletin software soon. Although chances are I won't be using the new vbulletin software, so I won't be using the new vmood script but I'll still be creating new icons for the vmood script. Below is a very, very very early preview (bottom) of the mood icons, I'm hopefully going for a pack of 150 (that's right 150) mood icons so that people who love to use custom moods have a vast variety.

The previous mood manger icons pack I designed consisted of animated and static images and I foresee the same here with this pack. I think some moods are better conveyed using animation, this means some of the icons will be saved in .gif format.

I'm also trying to reduce the height of this pack, but still retain the visual quality. Infact, I've managed to reduce the height and better the output visuals in my opinion. As well as reducing the height I'm opting for a smaller emoticon/icon design within the moods, though time will tell what the finalized sizes will be once I engage myself more in this mini project.

Because this is an early preview, the moods designs are still open to suggestions from the community and members can suggest what moods I should add in this pack. Your more than free to create a thread in this area and suggest what you would like to see added in this pack. Bare in mind, not all suggestions will make it through but hopefully over time most will be added in future vMoods Add-On icon packs. The great thing about this is that it's an on going project so additional packs is inevitable giving you a variety of moods to swing from.

Below is an early preview. Hopefully you'll feel they are an improvement over the previous mood icons that warrant their use and bare in mind this preview is a very early one.

I'm hopeful that I'll be commencing with these very soon. It's quite a large project so I'm assuming (like my last mood manager icon pack) it will be a long painful process with some moods.

To reiterate. Members are free to create new threads in this area with suggestions on the type of moods I should include. Better suggest now than at the latter stage of the project when I won't be adding new moods in.

I love this project

Do you have plan to make them available in different language?

Can they be used on others boards (not vBulletin)?

Good question. The last mood icons (each individual Icon) resided on it's own psd which mean't that any kind of alteration was time consuming a mistake I'm not wiling to make again. This time I plan on having all static moods on 1 psd image, sliced so that I can do the bulk of alterations on one psd without loading each one up. Another benefit is that when it comes to background changes I can save many moods with a click of a button where in the last icon mood pack I would have to load each icon up set the appropriate matte and save which with 125 moods is very time consuming taking 30-45 minutes where on one psd it will take 30 seconds.

So hopefully, with this new structuring of the psd multiple languages will be inevitable.

With dynamic moods (animated) this structuring is not possible. Each moods animation has it's own timing, layer count meaning that animated moods unfortunately have to reside on it's own psd.

When the time comes on the start date of this project I'll be looking at all angles and methods and adopt the most efficient way of building the icons and adopting the same thinking when it comes to making alterations.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm assuming your running 3.8, why not try the mood manager for 3.7? I know this works for 3.8 and I still have it running on vbimageworks without any issues.
